Outdoor Chair Covers – Benefits and Considerations
Outdoor furniture covers are one of those things that you don’t think much about until you realize that the main reason you’re not spending much time on your patio (which you went to lots of trouble to decorate), is because the chairs are too uncomfortable to spend much time in. Wrought iron, wicker, and aluminum all look great, but they leave a bit to be desired where comfort is concerned. That’s a problem with a simple solution, however, and you can solve it simply by investing in some inexpensive, plush chair covers that will turn your hard-as-nails furniture into something you can sink into and enjoy a leisurely afternoon in.
For normal weather conditions, a simple protective covering will suffice to keep your outdoor furniture in top condition (and if you’ve got wrought iron or other metal furniture, then some type of anti-rust coating is a near-must). If you’re expecting truly severe weather (hurricane, tornado, hail storm, etc), then if at all possible, it would probably be best to simply move your pieces indoors, or to a storage building on your property till the storm passes.
If you’ve got furniture pool side, then your family members or guests who are using it are probably wearing bathing suits wet from swimming. Not only can the water itself damage the furniture, but also the chemicals used to keep the pool’s water clean are very hard on most fabrics. Again, a series of furniture covers will serve you well here, as they tend to be crafted of more durable materials, and if one of these DOES happen to get damaged, replacing it is easy, and much cheaper than buying new furniture!
If you’ve only recently purchased your outdoor furniture, you might be worried about the kids or the family pets mussing it up. Again, the fix is as simple as purchasing a washable furniture cover, and you’re all set.
If you have an open fire pit in your garden you will be familiar with the problems caused by ash. Instead of having to clean your garden furniture on a daily basis you can put some outdoor chair covers on instead. These are usually machine washable although you will need to check the individual label. Your garden is there for all the family to enjoy so why not do it in style.
