It Works – Yard Machine Lawn Edger Critique
Does tend to clog in wet ground but otherwise does a good job I had been looking to purchase an edger. The weed eater does not quite do the job right. I live in Texas, and we have tough clay soil. I have not edged my yard ever, and have lived in my house for almost a year. We have really thick grass with tough roots. Over 10 years it had grown out over our driveway and sidewalk, over 6 inches of overgrowth in some places.
When it’s not wet – watch out this thing is awesome! I also used this to edge around my garden and my trees so I could put more mulch in. I’ve had to return one item bought through Amazon for replacement, and that was an easy and excellent experience. I have used this product only once and it is far superior to the Ryobi that I had before it. I am really pleased with this tool and while I’m not a fan of other Black and Decker yard products (see my other reviews); I would highly recommend this one. I bought this edger for my husband a couple of weeks ago.
The 4+ star rating is exceptional for any product and after reading some glowing reports I took a chance on one. In my first outing, I will admit to causing quite a few sparks against the concrete as I adjusted to using and aligning the tool.
This is the best electric edger you can buy. And the blade that it uses has jagged edges on it to help cut through better.
It is very easy to use and works great on edging the flower beds. I’m glad I didn’t buy one of the noisy gas ones that were recommended at Sears.
The cord proved to be no trouble at all, and in a way was much easier to use than a heavy battery that slowly destroys your back. Plus, no awful gas mixing and ridiculous noise. That was very adequate and the sparks rarely flew. My reserve blade will likely not be needed until deep into next year’s cutting season, if then.
This edger has power! And it’s lightweight, easy to maneuver, and the handle folds in thirds for storage.
I wasted a lot of time just going in circles with them. The second summer, I decided to buy a different brand of blade. Early on I would go too far into the grass and later I would scrap the edge of the walk. Eventually, I got it. Move it forward two feet, back one foot–nice cut. Moving it forward and back gives you a clear sight on what it’s doing and the results are fine.
Probably won’t live long enough to wear this one out but if so I would buy another one. CHEAP RECLINERS.
