Excellent Value – Lawn Edger Trimmer Critique

Move it forward two feet, back one foot–nice cut. Moving it forward and back gives you a clear sight on what it’s doing and the results are fine. You can (supposedly) also use it for carving holes through your yard by moving the guide-piece out of the way. Be careful about dinging your concrete with this, it is very easy to want to shift positions with the edger and “set it down” on the concrete, which will put little chip-marks into it. The blade is not sharp and showed considerable abrasion and wear after just a few of minutes of use. This product is like everything else Black and Decker has made in the last decade or so…junk.

When it’s not wet – watch out this thing is awesome! I also used this to edge around my garden and my trees so I could put more mulch in. I installed it and the thing was working like a dream. After 30 feet or so of edging, there was a noticeable power drop and then the unit started smoking.

Price included shipping to the front door by UPS. Would recommend to anyone with sidewalk and driveway areas that need an edger to help keep your lawn looking good around the edges. It will fill with mud but is easy to clean out. Real easy to assemble but the grass was over the driveway about three inches in places. If you do, you lose current and your motor will burn up due to loss of power from outlet. I used this electric device to not only landscape a home owner’s lawn, but I also used it to landscape a business.

Purchased to replace a weed eater edger that was 15 years old and had gone on to wherever old worn out weed eaters go. Used it today for first time and found it to be superior to the aged weed eater product. It gives my lawn that crisp finished look I want, it’s easy to use and it is consistent. In three years of use, I’ve only had to replace the blade once.

This is a great edger unless you have a large yard. It has gotten high reviews and I bought it because of those reviews. I highly recommend this edger. I purchased my electric B&D Edge Hog in 2005 and decided to finally write a review on it.

I love this new edger! It was easy to put together and easy to use. Although I wish I could have figured out how to use the weed eater to edge my lawn, this purchase was what my lawn needed. Future edgings should be quick and convenient. I had expected the edger to cut the grass cleanly. If you don’t want to deal with gas-powered edger, this is THE ONE.
