It’s Very Nice – Electric Lawn Edger Critique

Well the air may have been cleaner around my house but the lawn certainly wasn’t. I purchased my Black & Decker heavy-duty Edge Hog landscape edger on August 27 and received it on August 31. There was so much yard cut off that I had to haul most of it away using a shovel, when it was done and after I swept up, there was a perfectly straight, neat cut on my yard. I would pay $79 for this every time, and I get to keep this and do it for years to come!

I tried edging with my string trimmer, but once it gets out of hand you really need an edger to do the job properly. One general piece of edging advice.

Get over that small learning curve and you are home free with an edger that works, is not noisy or troublesome, and lets you keep the wallet a little fatter. My wife and I are very happy that we bought this edger and we both recommend it. I understand that the Edge Hog is not for professional landscapers, it is perfect for the average home owner, and the price is right. Simple to use and the powerful motor does not get stuck. Seemed pretty powerful for an electric edger. I found it to be a bit messy if you have never done it before.

The LE750 Edge Hog made short work of installing 80 radials that are 25 feet long apiece. If you do the math, that is 2,000 feet of digging. Highly recommend the Boss Edger. This is a terrible edger and does not do a good job at all. If you tend to hit the concrete sidewalk/driveway a lot check the blade and replace when it gets worn down, otherwise you will be “edging” but not a lot will be happening. I put a new blade on the other day and it’s like a brand new edger again!

I end up doing all the neighbors, just because I enjoy using it. Definitely a great buy for the price.

It is easy to handle and powerful enough to penetrate the red clay crust in our yard. I had a little trouble getting precision edge-lines since I was used to a single-wheel model that has been discontinued. But this edger has plenty of power for my needs, and although I was a total novice at this task I was edging in no time. I agree with other reviewers that the instructions are essentially worthless, but you don’t need them anyway. He loves it. He says that it is much easier to handle than the neighbors gas one.

I picked one of these up when I bought my house, and have been pleased ever since. The blades easily last a season (I can usually get them to last a season and a half), and the adjustable height lets you edge nice and deep.

Love the fact that you can choose the depth of the edging. I’ve had this edger 3 years and it’s still going strong.

Two horsepower is plenty adequate for your basic edging needs. LANDSCAPING EDGING IDEAS.
